Breaking News!
Hard to believe we have arrived at July so quickly.
First – annual memberships are now due. The rates are:
| Period in which student joins or pays: | Amount of Payment Required: |
| 1/7/2010 – 31/12/2010 | $70 |
| 1/1/2011 – 30/6/2011 | $35 |
These fees are used to insure instructors, help bring Maruyama Sensei out to Australia and generally help promote the aims and expansion of Kokikai Australia. Remember all instructor time is voluntary – so any training costs are mainly contributions. In the case of the Lismore dojo all fees paid to the PCYC are used by the PCYC to maintain the facilities and keep the PCYC running effectively.
The good news is that Maruyama Sensei is coming to Australia in late September and will again run a 3 day camp. The dates are:
2/10 – Camp at UNSW (Welcome dinner)
3/10 – Camp at UNSW
4/10 – Camp at UNSW (Farewell dinner)
This is a fantastic opportunity to see a truly outstanding and visionary martial artist as well as train with Kokikai practitioners from all over the country. I’ll announce the costs soon – but it is always great value and I’ll be booking my airline tickets this weekend.
I’d also like to thanks Anthony Warmsley for leading the class on Wed 7th July. Anthony demonstrated his favourite self defence techniques where he applies Kokikai principals to difference self defence situations. Anthony also showed his skill with the jo and the class really appreciated his knowledge in explaining some of the finer points of the katas.
Looking forward to training with you,
Ian

Aikido Kokikai primarilary offers an opportunity for us to develop our innate potential. Kokikai Aikido is practiced with a co-operative attitude, as we realize that we are each helping each other to improve ourselves.
We extend a cordial welcome and invitation to all martial artists and in particular aikido practitioners who have trained in other styles to come and train at the Lismore dojo.
Aikido Kokikai is far more than a self defence, it’s benefits are carried into and help us every day.
Please take your time to browse this Website as it is full of information that will help you to understand about Kokikai Aikido as well as the best way to approach your training.
